The Wellington Hotel

The Wellington is a charming, boutique hotel situated moments from the picturesque Ventnor Beach.

Rescued from dereliction, this elegant Victorian villa has been lovingly restored and brought back to life as a warm, seaside retreat. Many of the building’s original features have been preserved, giving the hotel a timeless character that reflects Ventnor’s history as a popular seaside resort. The Wellington’s dedication to hospitality has earned them multiple awards and even national recognition.

The hotel’s en-suite bedrooms are designed for comfort, with many boasting stunning sea views across Ventnor Bay. Each room comes with Wi-Fi, tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer, fridge and a safe, making it easy to settle in and feel at home.

Food is an important part of the experience here. Book a table for The Wellington’s famous ‘Champagne and Fromage’ (Spring to Autumn only) to sample some of the finest French flavours, or visit over a weekend to enjoy a traditional Sunday lunch with views across the bay. Guests can also relax on the terrace with a drink while taking in the panoramic coastal scenery.

Just a short walk from the hotel, you’ll find Ventnor Beach, one of the Island’s most famous bays. With its mix of sand and shingle, colourful beach huts and sheltered position, the beach often enjoys a distinctly Mediterranean feel.  Despite its popularity, you can often find beautiful, quiet spots all to yourself.

Ventnor itself is full of character, with independent shops, cafés and attractions nearby. A short stroll will bring you to the Ventnor Botanic Garden, home to an impressive collection of exotic trees and plants which thrive in the town’s unique microclimate.

Whether you’re visiting for a relaxing coastal weekend, a memorable meal, or simply to enjoy the sea views, The Wellington offers a memorable seaside stay on the Isle of Wight.
